All GEOL instructors were able to successfully migrate their sections to online during the Spring of 2020. The migration to online was completed in Fall 2020 for remaining labs, and Earth History lecture and lab in the Spring of 2021. Data for Earth History (only offered in the Spring) were not collected due to complications surrounding the pandemic. These will be collected in the Spring of 2022. |

Interpretation of Assessment findings |

Assessment data were collected for most of the geology sections offered in the Fall '20 and Spring '21. Data were not collected for Earth History lecture and lab due to problems related to the pandemic. Assessment for Earth History will resume in the Spring of 2022.
The LO assessed for lecture (GEOL 1110) "Compare and contrast the different plate tectonic settings" (GE 1,2) had a student success rate of 81% F20 and 77% S21. A second question - "The burning of fossil fuels has increased the amount of CO2 in the Earth's Atmosphere. Should this accelerate or slow down the chemical weathering rates of rock's at the Earth's surface? Please explain your reasoning" - had success rates of 79% and 70%, F20 and S21.
The LO assessed for lab (GEOL1110L) was "Demonstrate proper operation of laboratory and/or field equipment to collect relevant and quality data." Success rate for F20 and S21 were 67% and 63%, respectively. Lower success rates for both lecture and lab for S21 may be due to fewer data collected. The
