Part 2: Program Summary

Provide a high level review of the program to include highlights, successes, challenges, significant changes, and significant resources needed to support the program
The success of the Payroll Clerk Certificate through the Covid times is that students have persevered. There have been slight increases/decreases over the past 3 years, as the program data shows. This is particularly significant in that all of the Acct 2170, Payroll Accounting courses during the 20/21 AY were taught online.

Interpretation of Assessment findings
Students continue to do well meeting the learning outcome #1, the computations required in payroll accounting. In prior years, there has been an increase emphasis on learning outcome #3 (preparing the payroll journal entries) when teaching this course. This increased emphasis has paid off and, for the first time in four years, the target for this learning outcome has been met! The marked decrease in the number of students meeting the target for learning outcome #2 is a mystery. There is a 25% drop in the number of students successfully meeting this target. A meeting with the faculty teaching this course will be held as soon as possible to try and determine the reason(s) for this decline.
