Part 2: Program Summary
Provide a high level review of the program to include highlights, successes, challenges, significant changes, and significant resources needed to support the program |
---|
Our NA Program experienced faculty and staff shortages in the last year, however the dedication of our team to program and student success has been outstanding. Faculty have taken overload courses and have scheduled extra hours provide instruction where needed. Faculty have committed to come in early to set up equipment and supplies for lab as well as stay late to clean up the labs for the next day due to staffing shortages. Faculty have scheduled extra time for students outside of class to provide lab instruction and practice with feedback for those students who have missed consecutive classes due to failed health assessments. This has been necessary for students to meet competency in skills and be able to progress in the program. Despite the challenges, our students and our program continue to meet these challenges with success. Our clinical skills pass rate for the state CNA Certification exam is 99%. Our written exam pass rate is 89%. Our NA Program has exceeded target measures in all areas. |

Part 5: Additional Action Plan in Support of Student Learning (If Appropriate)
Upcoming Year | Changes Planned for the upcoming year | Data Motivating this change |
---|---|---|
2021-2022 | Adjustments have been made to our curriculum to include a mid-term skill performance and written evaluation. This is a non-graded activity to provide students with written feedback on skills performed. Written evaluations will be reviewed during lab practice prior to Mock and Lab Skill Final Evaluation. I will include an assessment report for the Transfer and Positioning skills to evaluate if changes made in curriculum improve skill performance in these areas. | In review of our state CNA Certification and Lab Skill Final Exams over the last year, the Transfer and Positioning skills were determined to be areas of needed improvement. |
2021-2022 | Increase minimum score for Intake/Output skill for Lab Final Evaluation to 80% | Goal has been met in this area at 75%. Increasing minimum score to 80% to see if we can meet this goal with current curriculum and instruction. If goal met next cycle at 80% we will change assessment criteria. |
