The graduating class of April 2021 was 9/16 = 56%: 3 students were dismissed from the program for not maintaining a 70% as a final grade in the RADT courses and 4 students dropped out of the program for personal reasons after the 1st semester. Re-entry instructions and requirements were sent to all students.

Part 4: Program Learning Outcome Analysis

Learning OutcomePopulation or Course(s) AssessedDescriptionSummary of Assessment Results
Student will select appropriate radiographic technical factors
RADT 1070L, RADT 1570L, RADT 2890
Benchmark met: RADT 1070L: 87%, RADT 1570L: 96% and RADT 1570L: 93%. •Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all RADT didactic classes were taught online. Lectures were prepared with voice-over recordings and faculty were available via online zoom meetings. The Labs for 1070 and 1570 were taught on campus face to face, with the exception of summer 2020 labs, which were taught online. CNM purchased and provided the program RadTechBootCamp for all students and RADT faculty; the program is being used in ALL RADT didactic classes including RADT 1070 and 1570. The students had access to the NaviRad Pro app during the hands on portion of the lab on their IPads and utilized all features of the app; the instructors also used the apple TV to project their own screens onto the board. The ancillary equipment used during lab and lecture includes a digital and computed radiography system. •All labs were taught by FT faculty members to ensure students were prepared for clinic rotations.
Students practice professional behavior by demonstrating soft skills in the clinic
    RADT 1690, RADT 2890
Benchmark met: RADT 1690 (c/o August 2021): Did not complete because of COVID, RADT 1690(c/o April 2022): 96% and RADT 2890: 100% • We have added a line to the clinical instructor weekly document check form to remind the clinical instructors to “Discussion of the importance of “Soft Skills”. They discuss this weekly with the students during each of the 7 visits throughout the semester. • By their last clinical semester, the students demonstrated strong soft skills that are necessary to enter the workforce.
Students will demonstrate accurate radiographic positioning skills.
      RADT 1070L, RADT 1570L, RADT 2890
RADT 1070L: 87%, RADT 1570L: 96% and RADT 1570L: 93%. • Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all RADT didactic classes were taught online. Students will demonstrate effective written communication skills
        RADT 1520
Benchmark met: RADT 1520: 91% and RADT 1520: 80%. • Emphasis was made to the students that specifics not generalizations about time, distance, shielding and dosimeter placement should be addressed in their policy. The student’s overall grades improved from previous semesters, students are provided the grading rubric in the Brightspace course shell. We will continue to assess this trend for another two years.
          Students will demonstrate oral communication
          RADT 1570L
          • Practical Exam
          • Final Exam
          • Instructor Observation
Benchmark met: RADT 1570: 99% and RADT 1570: 96%. •During this semester, the students were doing clinical rotations, so they were aware of the AIDET principle. The AIDET principle was added to the Practicum forms and the importance of AIDET was reiterated to the students during lab and class time. Having the AIDET principle on the practicum stressed to the students just how important oral communication is. We are not surprised with the results, but we will continue to monitor this outcome and update the Advisory Council yearly.
          Students will evaluate images
          RADT 2010, RADT 2890
Benchmark met: RADT 2010: 95%, RADT 2010: 93% and RADT 2890: 90%. • In RADT 2010 (DUE to COVID-19) students met one on one with the instructor for an hour to go over image evaluation via zoom. Office hours via zoom were available for students weekly, to drop in and talk live to the instructor if needed. • We will raise the benchmark to 80% and continue to monitor next year. • RADT 2890 clinical faculty selected an image evaluation form of their choice without informing the student beforehand and graded them on the summative criteria in clinic rotations.
            Students will perform non-routine procedures
            RADT 1075

            RADT 2999
            • Survey
            • Capstone Project
Benchmark met: RADT 2999 (c/o April 2021): 100% • Class will continue with the Radiology Club and the emphasis on becoming an ASRT, NMSRT, or other professional society member. We will continue to perform community volunteer projects each fall and spring.
            Interpretation of Assessment findings
All benchmarks were met and the program will continue to assess the current outcomes for the following year.
