Part 2: Program Summary

Provide a high level review of the program to include highlights, successes, challenges, significant changes, and significant resources needed to support the program
For the academic year 2020-2021, there were 164 declared Nutrition majors. Fourteen Nutrition AS degrees were awarded for the 2020-2021 year. The Nutrition program introduced a Nutrition Majors meeting via Zoom. Students were able to meet CNM and UNM Nutrition faculty as well as become connected with other Nutrition majors and ask questions/gain information about future study and careers in the field. Another highlight was the successful hire of a full-time faculty member to bring the total back up to four full time faculty. Challenges included the transfer of all coursework from Blackboard to Brightspace at the start of the Spring 2021 term. While most nutrition instructors and students made a relatively seamless transition to Brightspace, some struggled quite a bit. Another challenge was the drop in enrollment CNM-wide, which limited course offerings and part time instruction.
