The newly established Advanced-level designation for Pharmacy Technicians drove the creation of Advanced Level AAS degree program. Students receive classroom, laboratory and practical experience covering additional knowledge, skills, behaviors, and abilities needed for advanced practice. Included within the didactic and simulated portions of the program are content-specific blocks of instruction dealing with Medication Therapy Management, Point of Care testing processes, Medication Reconciliation processes, Pharmacy Informatics, Medication Safety and other advanced pharmacy technician roles.
The Pharmacy Technician Advanced Level AAS program's fall 2020 launch was delayed due to the response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The initial cohort began in the spring of 2021. This report will serve as baseline data for the completion of the program's cycle plan. All of the program courses have now been assessed once. |
