The Nail technology program continues to produce quality graduates prepared to leave the program and enter the industry. Graduate totals for this academic cycle is 25 individuals - 13 for Fall of 2021 and 12 for Spring 2022. The pass rate is 100% for graduates that registered for and completed the practical phase of the state board exam. The pass rate was at 75% for graduates registered to complete the written portion of the state exam. Our goal is to focus on the delivery of theory to improve next years written exam score results. 21 of the 24 graduates are licensed to practice in New Mexico. Our continuing goal is to prepare students to achieve skills of entry level or greater to facilitate a successful and lucrative career.

Direct & Internal - Students practice manicuring and pedicuring on clients to ensure students follow proper procedures. Students fill out lab sheets to demonstrate completion of work. Will pass with 75% or greater score.
Interpretation of Assessment findings
Students benefit from face to face courses and hands on practice. Our nail technology courses combines theory with extensive hands-on experience and teaches the concept of gaining and retaining clients. Curriculums are designed to prepare students for state licensing exams, including state laws, safety, and sanitation requirements. We have first-hand knowledge of what owners want in an employee. Students learn the technical, personal, and business skills for work in a professional salon or spa. At CNM students learn the fundamentals of nail techniques through hands on training in our clinic salon environment with a customers who understand that students are here to learn.
