Part 2: Program Summary

Provide a high level review of the program to include highlights, successes, challenges, significant changes, and significant resources needed to support the program
The MLT program was able to fully utilize the new lab (new in Fall 2019) for the 2021-2022 school year. We increased the class size to 24, up from a pre-COVID cap of 18. We continued to work closely with our clinical partners and developed a new clinical rotation schedule that aligns more closely with the industry standard departments. One challenge has been getting new part-time faculty. There are very few qualified applicants and often their lab work schedules conflict with our lab class schedule. We continue to post and interview as appropriate.

Interpretation of Assessment findings
Students are meeting and exceeding the minimum criteria for theory and lab courses. Students are also being evaluated positively by clinical preceptors/supervisors. The number of students attempting the national certification exam has increased, however, the scores are lower than previous years. Students are not maintaining a passing grade of 400 or higher, action plan is required.
