Part 2: Program Summary
Provide a high level review of the program to include highlights, successes, challenges, significant changes, and significant resources needed to support the program |
---|
In May 2021, Health Information Technology was able to recruit a permanent program director. CAHIIM, the accreditor, resumed the accreditation process requiring the submission of self-study by the end of the year. The curriculum needs to be updated and is a top priority due to a prolonged period of not having oversight from a permanent program director. In August 2021, before the new academic year began, the permanent Program Director stepped down. Currently, HIT is being managed by one of the HWPS Associate Deans. PT faculty will assist with updating the curriculum in HIT courses while recruitment efforts are made to secure a permanent program director. |
