Part 2: Program Summary

Provide a high level review of the program to include highlights, successes, challenges, significant changes, and significant resources needed to support the program
The COVID pandemic and the challenges faced by Public Safety communications centers in finding and keeping qualified employees have had a negative impact on CNM Public Safety 911 Dispatcher Program enrollment and created challenges to growing the program. Despite this fact, three PSD academy cohorts were run during 2021-2022. The CNMPSD continues to develop a positive reputation within the profession in the State of New Mexico. This, in conjunction with communication centers having the availability of WIOA funding to pay for their students to attend, will help foster the continued growth of the program. The program has continued its academic success with 100% of the students completing the CNMPSD and having successfully passed the New Mexico Public Safety Telecommunicator Certification Exam.

Summarize how your program met or did not meet the target measures based on the data above
The average class fill rate for 2021-2022 was 69%. The retention rate was 100% as was the annual C-pass rate for coursework. The CNMPSD program had a total of 37 graduates during 2021-2022. The total number of graduates (65) includes graduates from prior cohorts who were not captured in previous data mining. This is why the program showed 0 graduates for prior years. the issue with graduate capture has been corrected and future numbers should reflect the correct number of program graduates.

Part 5: Additional Action Plan in Support of Student Learning (If Appropriate)

Upcoming YearChanges Planned for the upcoming yearData Motivating this change
          2021-2022
The process for accepting self-sponsor students is in the development stages and hope that we can have the testing and screening process in place to open this by Fall 2023. This will create another means, besides accepting agency-sponsored students, to accept students into the program and allow us to provide certified applicants to dispatch centers across the state of New Mexico. We will also continue to reach out to communications centers across the state in an effort to forge relationships and encourage them to send their new hires to us for their training.
Due to several factors, the fill rate for cohorts is not as high as I would like it to be. Although the average fill rate was 73%, I would like to see that increase.
