        Interpretation of Assessment findings
        Students in SOCI 2120 (n=15) completed a short writing assignment to measure critical thinking skills. The class demonstrated good skills for the following rubric criteria with more than 60% scoring as proficient or exemplary: problem setting, evidence acquisition, evidence evaluation. The reasoning/conclusion was more challenging with 46% of students attaining a proficient or exemplary score. The correlation with the critical thinking total score and students' GPA for the semester was quite healthy at .52, but the correlation with total credit hours is weak at .11.
