Part 2: Program Summary

Provide a high level review of the program to include highlights, successes, challenges, significant changes, and significant resources needed to support the program
10 students graduated in May 2022 with their Associate of Applied Science in Veterinary Technology. Fall 2021 still had some course work presented only on-line due to the ongoing Covid disruption. By Spring 2022, and into Summer 2022, all Program courses returned to fully face to face instruction. Students were certainly more successful with the face to face instruction format. Brightspace augments all courses, and has become a satisfactory learning management system. Employers continue to seek out the CNM Veterinary Technology graduates. There are more employment opportunities available than graduates to fill the need in the veterinary field. The CNM Veterinary Technology Program continues to focus on training excellent students to serve the veterinary profession, with high ethical standards, meeting all of the stated values of CNM. The Program strives to "Change lives and Build community"!

Regarding the graduation rate, since March 2020 when the Covid restrictions were put into place and courses had to be held on-line, some students changed their educational plans and either withdrew for a time from the Program, or delayed applying to the Program. Enrollment and potential graduate numbers are on the rise since course work for the AAS degree has again been fully face to face since Fall 2021. The Veterinary Technology Associate Degree continues to meet student desires for education, and perspective employer needs. Graduates are actively sought after by veterinarians and facilities.
