Part 2: Program Summary

Provide a high level review of the program to include highlights, successes, challenges, significant changes, and significant resources needed to support the program
Dedicated faculty and staff continue to provide the extra time and effort that it has taken to keep our program running smoothly and provide students with the quality education they deserve despite continued faculty and staff shortages. While our enrollment has been down, we have met this challenge by increasing our dual credit enrollment, providing instruction at both the CEC and HLHS campuses. We have made great efforts to increase retention of our students in our program by improving our Brightspace notifications to provide students with checklists and timely notifications of compliance requirements which has greatly improved the number of students meeting compliance deadlines. Increased absences due to COVID restrictions have been a challenge, we have now improved our absence policy to include make up assignments for lab which are meant to better prepare students for skill check offs when labs have been missed. NA state exam pass rates are at 90% and we continue to exceed CNM target measures in all areas

Part 5: Additional Action Plan in Support of Student Learning (If Appropriate)

Upcoming YearChanges Planned for the upcoming yearData Motivating this change
2021-2022
2021-2022
2021-2022
Changes in curriculum to include Medical Terminology and Vocabulary practice exam and homework prior to Med Term exam. Implementation of Medical Terminology practice during lab.
The scores on the Medical Terminology/Vocabulary exam dropped from 95% to 86% this cycle. We did not meet our goal in this area. We will revisit this and discuss with faculty possible reasons for this drop in scores. The change in curriculum to include mandatory practice exam and homework prior to the exam will better prepare students to demonstrate competency in this area.
