Part 2: Program Summary

Provide a high level review of the program to include highlights, successes, challenges, significant changes, and significant resources needed to support the program
The electrical trades program has seen a return to at or close to full capacity for the first time since the pandemic forced our hand into online delivery of all the trades programs. The third term theory classes are still being offered online; which I do believe is a viable means to delivery the theory content, especially for students who are working full time. Although, I have noted some resistance to the online delivery of theory content mostly stemming from bad experiences that students that had with other online classes. The biggest challenge that I have identified that is still carrying over is the lack of students willingness to follow CNM health protocols. When students are honest and are asked to stay home due to their possible exposure, I have experienced a certain resentment that stems from the students feeling like they are being punished. This underlying resentment seems to directed at the instructors, even though these protocols are designed with everyone's safety in mind.

There has been an undrstandable drop in graduates since the pandemic started, but the recent data shows a trend in a positive direction. The average class size has increased as well as the pass and fill rates. The class withdrawal rate has also dropped. I also think it is important to note that the annual number of graduates has also increased.

    Interpretation of Assessment findings
Even with the challenges that are associated with the online delivery of theroy classes, students have continued to demonstrate their ability to identify electrical materials and components used in three-phase power distribution systems while in the in-person labs.
