Part 2: Program Summary
Provide a high level review of the program to include highlights, successes, challenges, significant changes, and significant resources needed to support the program |
---|
The program's national Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam (PTCE) pass rate for the 2021 -2022 Academic Year is 87% versus the national average of 70%. Program PTCE Candidates performed higher than national average in two out of the four exam content areas. The program candidates scored 1% less than the national average in the Federal Requirements and Medications domains of the PTCE. Although the scores were slightly below the national average, candidate scores in the Medication domain increased. The increase indicates that the changes to the program curriculum, specifically expanding the pharmacology and lab courses, has increased program student knowledge in these areas.
The program's ASHP/ACPE reaccreditation site visit was conducted in July. The surveyor's findings indicated five areas of partial compliance (only one of which was concerned with curriculum) and no areas of non-compliance with the ASHP Accreditation Standard. |

Summarize how your program met or did not meet the target measures based on the data above |
---|
All target measures were met.
The number of graduates increased by 4 over the previous year to 10. This number is equal to the threshold level. Enrollment levels were lower than expected and may still be a result of the pandemic. Changes in course modalities (Attend Anywhere) beginning in the Spring 23 term may offset perceived enrollment hesitancy. The decrease in declared majors may be due to the entry-level certificate being embedded in the advanced-level AAS.
