Part 2: Program Summary

Provide a high level review of the program to include highlights, successes, challenges, significant changes, and significant resources needed to support the program
The two year old Advanced-level designation for Pharmacy Technicians drove the creation of Advanced Level AAS degree program. The Entry-level Certificate of Completion is embedded into the AAS degree. The advanced-level program initially required students to have completed the entry-level program certificate to register and complete the advanced courses. Processes that allow graduates of other ASHP/ACPE accredited programs to complete CNM's Advanced-level AAS have been developed. Additionally, the credit for prior learning pathway is being explored in hopes of increasing program enrollment levels.

The Advanced-level Pharmacy Technician AAS is a new program that began in the spring of 2021. Historical data is unavailable. The number of declared majors is high, but program enrollment levels are low. This may be due to the newness of the advanced-level designation and lack of advertising the educational opportunities to our community partners.
