Part 2: Program Summary

Provide a high level review of the program to include highlights, successes, challenges, significant changes, and significant resources needed to support the program
Our program was given full re-accreditation by the AVMA after their site visit in the Summer of 2022. Twelve students graduated in May 2023 with their Associate of Applied Science in Veterinary Technology. Several outreach opportunities were utilized to increase our enrolment numbers. Our program was taken out of the CNM Coordinated Entry Program. Current enrollment for the 2023 fall semester is twenty-four, indicating that our advertising efforts were successful. Employers continue to seek out the CNM Veterinary Technology graduates. There are more employment opportunities available than graduates to fill the need in the veterinary field. The CNM Veterinary Technology Program continues to focus on training excellent students to serve the veterinary profession, with high ethical standards, meeting all of the stated values of CNM. The Program strives to "Change lives and Build community"!

Interpretation of Assessment findings
Learning outcomes 2-15 were also assessed during the cycle plan of 2022-2023. The assessment of all 15 Learning Outcomes highlighted that examinations with a pass rate above 71%, capstone projects, portfolios, preceptorships, and live animal out labs contributed to target thresholds being met and the program graduates performing above the national average on the Veterinary Technician National Exam, when compared with all first-time test takers.
