Part 2: Program Summary

Provide a high level review of the program to include highlights, successes, challenges, significant changes, and significant resources needed to support the program
The Sterile Processing Technician Program remains to be a very popular program. The annual number of graduate awards was 33. The program had 28 declared majors. The program has an 67% C-Pass rate and a 88% average class fill rate. The program met the threshold on all of its learning outcomes each term in 2022-2023. The program struggles to receive follow up information regarding employment after graduation. We were able to get an increased number of graduate surveys returned. The graduate survey gives the program the employment and certification tracking data needed. The Surgical Sciences Program Director has assigned a SPT faculty member to be the liaison between the students and PD. The students are unfamiliar with who the PD is and do not respond to emails. Students who responded, stated that 90% intended to take the certification exam. 2 Students stated that they had found employment in the field. The liaison and PD are continuing to work to increase graduate survey returns 1 year post graduation.

Part 5: Additional Action Plan in Support of Student Learning (If Appropriate)

Upcoming YearChanges Planned for the upcoming yearData Motivating this change
2022-2023
Increase graduate surveys by sending surveys at 3months, 6months and 1 year.
While the returned number of graduate surveys has improved, students have been filling them out before sitting for their certification exams. This impacts the data received for graduates working in the field.
