Students are learning business skills such as pre-booking, improving return client requests, retailing and goal setting. Our externship program provides students with the opportunity to study under mentorship on an off site salon location. Interpretation of Assessment findings |
---|
By assisting industry professionals in a clinical practicum setting, students have the opportunity to learn advanced techniques that are current and go beyond the scope of what we teach in our introductory cosmetology courses. Students practice professional behaviors and salon etiquette by arriving to host salon on time, groomed and dressed according to the salon's policies. Students begin to create professional relationships with a salon to increase opportunities for successful employment after graduation. Mentors complete a survey and provide feed back on student performance allowing instructor to coach student on any improvements that need to be made and to celebrate their accomplishments.
Cosmetology student confidence improves significantly once they begin applying their knowledge in real life settings. |
