Part 2: Program Summary

Provide a high level review of the program to include highlights, successes, challenges, significant changes, and significant resources needed to support the program
The Certificate Program was updated in 2020 to allow for extra learning opportunities with concepts, making the time to completion four terms. The curriculum now includes three pharmacology courses, an intermediate pharmacy technician course, a pharmacy technician professionalism course and two advanced-level laboratory classes. Although the Accreditation Standard considers the two ninety-hour, sterile and non-sterile compounding labs advanced-level courses, they are included in the entry-level program upon our Advisory Committee's recommendation. The new Entry-level Certificate of Completion is also embedded in the new Advanced-level Pharmacy Technician AAS degree, which will allow an easy transition from the certificate to the degree. Based on advisory and community feedback and CIPR review, we have now condensed the program to three terms, and are awaiting review by the Curriculum and Catalog Committee.

Interpretation of Assessment findings
This program is a CIPR Fix program. It has struggled with enrollment and continuation after term 1 of the program. Here are the measures that have been put in place to address these issues: Several outreach events attended by faculty and AD Work with MCO to promote with a student focused article as well as social media posts Dual credit partnerships with HLHS Program info via QR codes on faculty business card to distribute Automated email that is sent to students continuing from term 1 to term, for reminders about registration, financial aid deadlines, tutoring, clinical requirements, etc. Move classes to attend anywhere to meet student needs Revamp curriculum Have submitted catalog proposals to rearrange term by term to condense program into 3 terms Host community partners in recruitment opportunities during class time Enrollment has increased over the last two terms, despite our low enrollment and attrition we reported on for this cycle. Zero percent drop rate since day 1 of fall 2023 term
