Intro to Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies has been offered every term for a number of years now. The course regularly fills at high rates and the curriculum supports students who major in a range of career or transfer programs, as it counts as the Social and Behavioral Science requirement. |

The Absence of assessment processes in this course offers a unique opportunity to rethink assessment practices. The coming cycle’s assessment activities will focus on preparation for the transition to the Assessment Academy model in fall 2023. With the help of the Senior Director of Assessment, faculty teaching this course will engage in facilitated activities and conversations designed to address faculty understanding and perceptions of the role of assessment in effective teaching and learning. Planned activities, including an Introduction to Assessment workshop and discipline-specific guided conversations, will (re)introduce concepts of informed teaching and prompt faculty to begin considering what they want to know about their teaching, student success, and the curriculum. |
