Student assessment is completed through written assignments, quizzes, final projects and practicum post check list of skills. Challenges included getting students back to face to face practicum agencies after restrictions from the pandemic, creation of online content, and maintaining student engagement in the online content. Positive/highlights this past year has been an increase in both student enrollment and interest in mental health careers.

Class fill rate has increased from previous years, due to the increased interest in mental health careers. However, a decline in pass rates has been a barrier due to online content rather then face to face discussion based classroom setting.

9 practicum students were able to successfully show competency in both oral and written communication throughout class projects, portfolio assignments and testing application. Critical thinking skills were evaluated throughout discussion posts and weekly reflection papers.
Interpretation of Assessment findings
In summary, HMSV students at the end of the program show proficiency in demonstrating the ability to meet or exceed paraprofessional standards for oral and written communication in the fields of Human Services.
