We were able to see that students have strong practical skills but need more time for theory related material.
What did you learn about the teaching and learning of "Practicing Community" in your programs?
We learned that practicing community helps students promote their work and encourages them to network with other industry professionals.
Describe any external factors affecting the program or affecting assessment of the program.
The New Mexico State Board of Barbers and Cosmetologist is working on increasing the number of hours needed for licensure. This means we will need to increase the number of hours students are practicing in the lab. This will only give the students more practice.
