3. Demonstrate the ability to perform the responsibilities of a public safety 911 dispatcher/telecommunicator. | 100% of students who participated in the Radio Practices and Procedures, utilizing the dispatch simulators, successfully met the standards and passed. | The results support the focus area question as the students are displaying the ability to apply what they've learned and effectively perform the duties of an entry-level public safety telecommunicator. | The results show that the instruction that students are receiving during the CNM Public Safety 911 Dispatcher Academy program is preparing them to perform the duties of an entry-level public safety telecommunicator and is readying them for on-the-job training with their respective communication centers. |

Describe the change that was implemented. | Outcomes continue to be excellent with 100% pass rate for all students completing the Radio Practices and Procedures assessment. The only changes currently planned is the additional use of the dispatch simulator during any available free time, which is unfortunately extremely limited. This additional exposure to the simulator will allow students more practice time leading up to the final practical assessment. |
Type of Change |
|
Change in Assessment Approach or Tools? | No, no changes are required. |
What data motivated the change? | Although the data is indicative of continued success, improvement is always sought. |
Hypothesis about the effect the change will have? | Additional exposure to the dispatch simulator during training, and prior to the final assessment, will allow students to not only familiarize themselves with the simulator, but also apply their knowledge and hone their skills. This may lead to overall performance improvement on the final assessment. |
