4. Demonstrates understanding and adherence to set hierarchy and set safety protocol. | We will collect data via a Brightspace quiz (pre- and post-assessments) highlighting key concepts. | FDMA 2120, FILM 1015, FILM 1110, FILM 1003, FILM 1220, FILM 1230, FILM 1240, FILM 1335, FILM 2005 | Most of our students (at least 80%) can demonstrate understanding and adherence to set hierarchy and set safety protocol. |

4. Demonstrates understanding and adherence to set hierarchy and set safety protocol. | Not enough data, will collect more in Spring 2025. | The data we gleaned is not what we expected. We need to parse out the data more to see student responses to individual questions. | This process has given us a better understanding of how our data for outcomes will get aggregated. We will make some changes to how we associate questions in Brightspace to get more appropriate data for our needs. |
4. Demonstrates understanding and adherence to set hierarchy and set safety protocol. | |
---|---|
Describe the change that was implemented. | We need to adjust how we associate the quiz questions to get a better picture of student understanding. We will do this by duplicating learning outcomes in Brightspace with descriptive course number and descriptive question number tag. We are going to reduce the number of courses that we will be doing a pre and post assessment on so that we can focus on the process on data collection and refinement. Then for the next round we will consider expanding the data collection efforts. |
Type of Change |
|
Change in Assessment Approach or Tools? | Yes. See above. |
What data motivated the change? | The film program really wants to be able to look at the data in terms of different questions so we can tailor our teaching to those specific questions. |
Hypothesis about the effect the change will have? | By gathering more detailed data, we will be better equipped to assess our students' progress and our instructor's progress. |
