What data motivated the change? The data motivating this change is a small student pass rate in the program and no data available for student performance on the standardized exam.
Hypothesis about the effect the change will have? The planned changes of testing the students with the standardized exams will help with the course pass rates and students performance on the FAA written exams.

5. Maintain and repair airframe components of an aircraft. On the second round of this cycle, 15/19 students passed General. 18/18 passed Powerplant and 11/11 passed Powerplant. Students scored 89.3% on the Airframe standardized exam and 87% on the Powerplant standardized exam. The next step is to standardize Instructional practices within the AVMT program. This last cycle, both Instructor's agreed on the same method of test preparation. Moving forward with a new Instructional staff, it's invaluable that program guidelines and test preparation methods are followed for student success.

Describe any change in student achievement observed as part of this assessment process, and what led to those changes.

On the second round of this cycle, more students passed and had more confidence going into their FAA exams, which showed in higher test scores. This change was accounted for by a change in the Instructional staff and a new better quality of Instruction.
Describe long-term changes in the program(s) that the assessment process led to, and what motivated those changes?

When looking at the pass rates and the change in number of students passing, it is clear that the AVMT Instructors must follow program guidelines when it comes to test preparation and teaching practices. Student success depends on it as demonstrated in the second round of assessment.
What did you learn about the teaching and learning of "Practicing Community" in your programs?

Practicing community helps us understand industry needs with our employment partners and how to best prepare our students by exam preparation for the FAA certification exams and acceptable work practices, such as showing up on time.
Describe any external factors affecting the program or affecting assessment of the program.

By regulation, The Federal Aviation Administration requires 70% of our students to pass their FAA exams in order for CNM to keep our school certification. Currently, CNM has a 93% pass rate with the FAA.
